  • The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear

The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear

    “What was this?”

    -Jon Stewart

I think it[The Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear] was one of those great cases of an event where you have literally thousands of people experiencing the same thing at the same time, and everyone will have their own perspective and experience of the event.  You could tell as the day started and progressed, no one in the crowd knew what to expect, or what would happen.  We were standing here.

I had an amazing day, I thought it was a brilliant rally and was just a lot of fun to be at, you really had no idea who was going to come on stage next.  That was until Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow came out to kill some time, which worked well in favor of the Rally goers, during our bored look-around during those performances, we were able to see what had become the final size, but then Skeryl Crow sang another song, and the lack of interest peaked at this point during the rally.

But the low points are greatly overshadowed by the high points, Peace-Crazy-Love-Train, Giant Puppet Colbert, Jon had to sing, and seeing everyone there, that was the best part, just seeing the crowd, it was a lot of people, and everyone was very respectful to each other and their surroundings.  It wasn’t a perfect crowd, there’s still the loud commentators standing right behind us who lived in DC and thought they should stop by to see this whole “Rally” thing, but that’s the thing, it’s never perfect, and never will be.  My favorite part of Jon’s speech was that there will always be darkness, but we get through it together, using the analogy of a freeway tunnel.  We all have to compromise everyday, and people unwilling to compromise are noticed by the others, but we can’t do anything about them, we can only handle ourselves, and be willing to be the change we want to see in the world, not demand it from everyone else.

I made a short montage of the rally using my canon 60d and schmoyoho‘s autotuned tune.

Here’s just a plain crowd shot to try to show the scope from where we

And here’s a few photos from the day.

My dearest thanks go out to everyone that was a part of this, from reddit to Jon & Stephen, to Mel & Molly for keeping me company, to everyone that made it out and made it what it was, thank you for a memorable day.

    Art Outside 2010

We were accepted to Art Outside this year for our art project LZR.

The festival was one of the most positive and enjoyable experiences I’ve ever been to, or been a part of.  It was like a festival for artists, by artists and with mostly artists in attendance.  Everywhere you look you would see something else fantastical, and then meet the person who made it, and then you would have them come by later with the same fascination in whatever you’ve created.  There was a great air of respect and openminded-ness that permeated the grounds during our three day stay.  Something I won’t forget, and certainly something to look forward to next year.

I took some video and a few pictures while I was there, so here’s a small taste of what could be recorded.  Click through to the youtube page for HD.

Here’s a gallery of shots I managed to get while walking around, although pictures only show so much, it’s one of those things that you should check out for yourself.

I assisted in the filming and editing of this video with Patrick Morrison and Zac Witte of 4320 Productions.  We camped out with the Millenium Disc Golf Crew for the weekend, and spent some time with some serious disc golfers.  I found the song on thesixtyone.com, it’s King Tut’s They’re All Just Happening

My friends in Hello Hawk asked for a music video. I had personally gone through a break up, and I felt it would be a fun way to show what happened and do this whole short story about my side of things and whatever else.

But I changed my mind, and decided to completely forgive/forget/accept the whole memory and make something else to take my mind of it entirely, realized thinking longer about that would just recycle the same terrible thoughts, so I did something completely different.

In any case, it was kind of my own way of moving on, because dwelling is always useless.

So I utilized some footage a friend gave me who advised me to “do what I will with it”, and I did.  Thanks again Craig, for the hour of dance footage you gave me.

    LAbor Day @15Rose

I managed to shoot a bit of random footage throughout the day/night, and did remember to record at least one song all the way through, allowing me to make a music video of the event!  Reminded me of the lake video, and makes me think I should make more music videos of party footage, they’re might be a niche market for that somewhere.

    An Introduction to Red Devil

I put together this short introductory video for Red Devil Energy Drink for the 2007 NACS show in Atlanta.  Featuring the up beats of RJD2, I was able to create a personality for the Devil, and keep the high energy for all of our worldwide sponsor clips.

  • A Week at the Lake

    A Week at the Lake

A few years back a few friends and I made a trip out to our lake house in Lake Livingston, TX. It was a pretty great week, and one of the last times that entire group has been together, a truly special collection of moments. So to glorify a week of drinking by the lake, I created this music video out of some footage we randomly shot all week. If it’s confuses to you, sorry, I made it for my mates that were there, so they probably have a better idea what’s going on.

  • The Writing on the Wall

    The Writing on the Wall

Look at me on my soapbox! No, but seriously, I made this for a video editing class, and because I’m not one to shout out my religious beliefs to everyone, let me explain why I would have made such a exclamation. We had one girl in the class that wanted us to know, that “GOD WAS AWESOME!” So week in week out, when it came time to show videos, she had another about the glory of God helping her through her fatty high school days. So for the final, I made this just to add a little spice into our weekly video presentations. Funny part was, she showed hers right after me, which was another one of her running off camera to a blurry white figure. So all in all, I felt pretty good about making fun of a poor girls religion, because religion is funny, and if we can’t laugh at such a nonsense idea such as religion, then we don’t have much hope to do anything good.
